I’m Pastor J.C., and we are The Baysingers! We believe the Lord has been preparing us for this work over the course of our ministry. We trust the Lord has used our ministry experience, as well as our backgrounds in business and counseling to ready us for this adventure.
Elizabeth and I met in preschool while living in Livermore, CA, a Bay Area city about an hour away from San Francisco. After years of friendship, we began dating in 1997 and continued to do so via long distance while Elizabeth was attending school in Seattle, WA. We reconnected and moved to the same city, got married in 2002, and now have three boys: Caleb, Micah, and Ezra. Somewhere in the middle, Elizabeth was working full time while I attended Reformed Theological Seminary to obtain my Master of Divinity (a pastoral vocational degree). As school was winding down, we heard about an opportunity to move to Phoenix, Arizona. After visiting the area, we knew God was calling us to move again. So we stepped out in faith with two kids (at the time), not knowing where we were going to live or what His plan entailed.
In 2014, I became an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in America. Two short years later, we welcomed our third son, Ezra as our involvement in local churches grew. I served as both an Assistant and Associate Pastor at Desert Palms Church for six years. While pastoring there, my responsibilities increased, as did my willingness to follow God’s call to Church plant.
Our church planting experience began in 2018 with the idea of establishing roots in Queen Creek, Arizona. We knew that this growing suburb of Phoenix needed a place of worship, and that He was asking us to make it happen. From the first launch team meetings in May of 2019, to the first public worship service in February 2020, our church has been built on a foundation of Faith, Hope, and Love.
